About
Meet our chiropractors
We are a passionate, husband-and-wife chiropractic team dedicated to promoting natural healing through dedicated, hands-on care. Located in the heart of the beautiful Lowveld bushveld, our practice is deeply inspired by the peaceful natural surroundings. Co-founded in 2021 by Dr Ruben Erasmus and Dr Rolene Rademan, Hoedspruit Chiropractic is the fulfilment of our shared dream to provide exceptional healthcare while raising our family in this tranquil community. When we aren't in the clinic, you will likely find us camping and exploring the great outdoors with our young daughter.
Meet Dr Ruben erasmus
Beside his dedication to biomechanics, spinal health and interest in sports, Dr Ruben is an avid bladesmith. He began his journey into the art of knife-making in 2017 and constantly enjoys challenging himself with the precision and craftsmanship the discipline requires.
Meet Dr Rolene Rademan
Dr Rolene brings a unique blend of artistry and science to the practice. Before pursuing her passion for chiropractic, she completed a diploma in music at the University of Stellenbosch. She is a talented musician who still loves spending her spare time playing the flute and piano.
What do we do as chiropractors?
Directly translated from Greek, Chiropractic means “done by hand.” It is an evidence-based, manual therapy specialising in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of musculoskeletal system conditions. As a dedicated family practice, we welcome patients of all ages—from newborns and paediatric care to geriatrics, and everyone in between. Whether you are an athlete looking to optimise performance, managing an acute injury, dealing with chronic dysfunction, or simply looking for maintenance care to improve your overall biomechanical function, we are here to support your journey.

To help us perform a thorough physical assessment and treatment, we recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing (such as sports attire or leggings). If you have any recent X-rays, scan reports, or medical documents relevant to your condition, please bring them along to your initial consultation.
During your first consultation, we will conduct a comprehensive assessment, including a medical history and physical examination, to create a personalised treatment plan also including your first treatment.
Chiropractic care involves treating, and prevent musculoskeletal disorders and improve overall health by diagnosing and treating with hands-on spinal manipulation and other techniques such as massage, dry needling and other modalities to diagnose,
Our services are beneficial for individuals of all ages, from infants to seniors, experiencing pain, discomfort, or seeking preventative care.
Because every body and condition is unique, there is no one-size-fits-all answer. During your initial consultation, we will establish a personalised management plan tailored to your specific goals. For acute injuries, a few closely spaced sessions may be all it takes. For long-standing or chronic issues, it may take a bit longer to change old movement habits. Our ultimate goal is always to get you back to doing what you love as efficiently and safely as possible with individual needs and treatment goals in mind.
Yes. Chiropractic is widely recognised as one of the safest, non-invasive, drug-free therapies available for musculoskeletal complaints. We undergo extensive university training (a minimum of 6 years in South Africa) to properly diagnose conditions and identify any risk factors. If we determine that a specific technique isn't right for you, or if your condition requires medical attention, we will immediately refer you to the appropriate specialist.
Yes, we use incredibly gentle, specialized paediatric and obstetric techniques tailored specifically for delicate spines
es, absolutely. While we will not adjust the specific segments of your spine that have been surgically fused or operated on, spinal surgery often places extra biomechanical stress on the joints above and below that area. We can gently treat these surrounding joints and work on the surrounding soft tissues to help relieve compensatory strain and improve your overall mobility.
The sound is completely harmless! It is a natural phenomenon called cavitation. Our joints contain a lubricating fluid (synovial fluid) that contains dissolved gases. When a precise adjustment gently opens the joint space, the pressure changes rapidly, releasing those gases as a bubble—resulting in that familiar "pop" or "click" sound. It is exactly the same physics as opening a can of soda.
